1. The Nine Lives of Chloe King
-Really interesting show about a girl who learns she’s like a cat person……but add extra drama like two guys like her. One is part of her cat people, but also really aggressive so he can be a jerk. The other guy is really sweet, but his dad is trying to kill her. Of course, he knows nothing about any of this. Then she can’t kiss human guys or they die. Thought you had a complicated love life? Feeling better about it now. Along with discovering how to use her new powers she has to try to escape assassins sent to kill her. Having nine lives may seem cool, but who wants to die nine times? Exactly. The acting is okay, but the show and actors are new so not putting them to high standards, but I believe it. I think the main characters do a pretty decent job, some of the supporting, not so much. I’m watching Teen Wolf right now and if you like that show, you’ll love this. This is like the girl version of that, but from what I’ve seen (On episode 2 of Teen Wolf) Chloe is a better show.
2. Switched At Birth
-I expected the show to be cheesy and stupid. A show about two babies switched at birth? LAME. Actually, not. The extra elements like one family is poor, other rich. One daughter super sweet and naive, the other a brat. Then the deaf element. Three of the main characters are deaf. Two are deaf in real life and one is acting for the show, which she does an amazing job at it. The acting and writing are very well done on this show. It’s a pleasant surprise and probably one of my favorite new shows all year.
3. True Blood
-This show is always amazing but so far the fourth season is turning out even better than the first three. If you’ve some how not heard of the show it’s basically girl falls in love with a vampire, but she lives in a small town and vampires are common. But besides that, so are other weird creatures like shape shifters. It’s like a good version of Twilight. But more like not like Twilight at all. More in the realm of Buffy.
4. State of George
-I’m still trying to decide how I feel about this show. The creator and writer of it is one of Sandy’s favorite writers, who she says I write like. I watched the show because it has Majandra Delfino (Maria from Roswell) who I love to pieces. But I also started watching it because Raven is in it. The first episode started off funny but lost it’s self mid-episode. The second was more solid, but it’s still trying to find it’s way. I like it and laugh occasionally, but not sold. But it’s only been two episodes I’ll see where it goes from there.
Other shows: Degrassi (Always a good show. I think the season premiere is today. I just remembered this). Misfits (If you haven’t seen it, Hulu premieres episodes each week). Pretty Little Liars (Overall is just a B-/C+ show but it’s actually getting better this season.) Teen Wolf (Is alright from what I’ve seen so far. The acting isn’t the best. But it’s watchable). Rookie Blue (I liked it last season but stopped watching it. I plan to catch up one day, but from what I remember it started off strong. Just lost interest. I’m not really a cop show person)
I’ll do a reality show version sometimes later this weekend. I have a bunch of those to recommend. Since it’s basically the only thing that comes on TV right now.
